YouTuber Vegas Matt Says Venetian Escorted Him Off Property After $400K Slot Win
Slots content creator Vegas Matt, whose real name is Stephen Matt Morrow, confirmed on Tuesday, August 25, that he was escorted out of The Venetian Las Vegas after winning approximately $400,000 during a session on a Phoenix Link slot machine.
The YouTube personality, who has more than 1.6 million subscribers, said casino security did not provide an official explanation for the incident. However, he has rejected online speculation that he was removed for engaging in advantage play.
Morrow revealed on X that Venetian security escorted him out after he and a group of friends won roughly $400,000 from a Phoenix Link machine during a single session.
The video documenting the jackpot had been available online since November 2025, meaning the incident remained undisclosed for nine months until Vital Vegas brought it to public attention in an August 25 post on X.
The video shows the jackpot itself but does not capture the moment security escorted Morrow from the property.

No Explanation From The Venetian
According to Vital Vegas, The Venetian did not provide Morrow with an official reason for his removal. However, speculation centered on advantage play, a legal gambling strategy in which players identify favorable game conditions or exploit residual value to gain an edge over the casino.
Advantage play is different from cheating. Cheating involves deliberately manipulating a game’s outcome, such as tampering with a machine, marking cards, or altering chips. Advantage players, by contrast, look for opportunities in which a game operating as intended offers favorable odds.
In table games, card counting is a well-known example. At slot machines, advantage play can involve progressive jackpots approaching their expected payout thresholds, “must hit by” jackpots, partially accumulated bonus features, or symbol collections that retain value between players.
Nevada regulators do not classify advantage play itself as illegal. Casinos can nevertheless take action against players they do not wish to accommodate. Nevada law generally allows private casinos to refuse service to customers, potentially including issuing permanent trespass notices without providing a detailed explanation.
It remains unclear whether Morrow has been permanently barred from The Venetian. However, his subsequent comments suggest he has little interest in returning his business to the resort anytime soon.
Did Vegas Matt Actually Use Advantage Play?
Morrow disputes the suggestion that his $400,000 jackpot resulted from advantage play. Responding beneath Vital Vegas’ post, he explained that his group left the machine’s counter higher than when they began playing, adding that this was “which is hardly advantage play.”
Players who pursue “must hit” jackpots or partially accumulated bonus features typically aim to capture the remaining value before a machine resets. They may then leave the machine, potentially allowing the next player to inherit a less favorable position.
Morrow’s claim that his group left the counter higher suggests he does not believe they depleted any accumulated value to secure their winnings.
“Maybe they just didn’t like me winning,” Matt concluded.
The incident generated considerable support for Morrow on social media. Some users reportedly said they had canceled planned visits to The Venetian, while others argued that the casino had created an avoidable public relations problem by apparently removing a popular content creator without explaining why.
Vegas Matt Wins Another $260,000 at Fontainebleau
Morrow, who serves as a FanDuel Casino ambassador, returned to posting major jackpot wins shortly after the controversy emerged.
On Tuesday, August 25, he shared another video showing a $260,000 win at Fontainebleau Las Vegas. The session included a $200,000 Grand jackpot, again achieved on a Phoenix Link machine.
Morrow said he preferred to patronize casinos that “are happy when I win.”
The Venetian has not issued a public statement addressing the incident.
